Smiles

Such a sweet love!
Our baby Milo is already 5 1/2 weeks old.  He is growing so fast and really starting to get some big cheeks!  Grammy has been lucky enough to babysit Milo the past couple weeks here and there so Momma can do some observations.  What I've learned is that Milo LOVES to eat, and EXPECTS to eat every hour.  He sucks down 4 ounces of milk in a blink.  As long as I've got a bottle we are good to go.

We have also gone on some walks around the block, which Milo really appears to love.  Milo has also learned to smile this week!  It's the best:)

Big brother Otto continues to be very gentle to his baby brother, and cousin Huxey has become very curious of this new little person at Grammys.  It will be fun to see their relationships as they grow.  I'm thinking Milo is gonna be a tough little cookie having to keep up with those two.  The poking, prodding and inspecting has already begun.

Happy Birthday Otto

Otto had a big family Birthday Party Bash for his 2nd birthday.  All of 30 adults and 8 children were in attendance, and the birthday boy (and all the children) were excellent.

It's so much fun to watch all the cousins, siblings and now friends get together and celebrate.  These are the photos that will be so fun to look at 10 and 20 years down the road.  The only one missing in the photo was baby brother Milo, who was being snuggled at the time.
Notice the birthday boy is the only one who grabbed a cupcake during the photo shoot;)
Otto got a new Trike from Grammy and Grandpa for his birthday.
Such a fun day to celebrate with all of our wonderful family~  We are so very blessed.

So Big

Our Huxey is 9 months old already.  He is enjoying standing up against the furniture and sensory table while playing.  He feels pretty confident with letting go and using both hands to explore.  He loves the rice table and gets very excited, stiffening his legs and yelling. Hux is also enjoying little vehicles and the little people.  He has almost outgrown the baby toys I have in a basket for him.  Other than the teethers, and noise makers he's lost interest in them.

He loves to watch his cousin Otto play.  Huxey talks to Otto more then anyone else.  He finds him so fascinating that he wants to touch him, talk to him and play with whatever he is playing with.  It is really cute, and Otto has been very gentle with Hux.

Huxey continues to work on his crawling skills.  He will rock back and forth on his hands and knees then dive forward.  Every week he gets a little farther along.  It's fun to watch the progress.

Hux has also been taking steps when you hold his hands.  He is very motivated if someone has a bowl of food as the focus.  There are some large steps being taken to get to that bowl.  He continues to love all food he is given.  Like all of us Johnsons, he loves feeding time.

Finally a bottom tooth has come through for Hux.  He has so many bubbles in his mouth he won't even open to let you look anymore.  He spends a lot of time biting down on whatever he can get in his mouth to alleviate some of that pressure.  Now that one has popped up I'm sure the others will follow soon.

Hux continues to babble and is very observant.  He can say, "mom" when he sees his Momma.  He will wave bye when he feels like it and is paying attention to absolutely everything that is going on.  I brought Huxey to Book Time at the library on Monday and he had so much fun watching the kids and could not keep his hands off of Otty who was sitting next to us.  It's fun to watch them with each other and how their relationship continues to grow.  Such loves!

Toddler Funnies

I find the world according to our Otto very funny.  If we ask him who made this mess? He will reply confidently that, "Huxey Boo did it."  Even if Huxey Boo is no where in sight.  And if Huxey Boo is in sight he will also point to him and say, "That's him." To make sure we understand that the perpetrator is within our view.

This has been going on for about 2 weeks now.  It doesn't matter if we are at Otty's house, or Gram's house.  Huxey Boo always made the mess.  The odd thing is that Huxey Boo is not really mobile yet, so it's pretty impossible that he's guilty of these accusations.

  • I started my spring cleaning last week and tackled the living room first.  I cleaned, organized, and got rid of a lot of stuff, and had the large rug shampooed.  The next time Otty came over he went in the living room and announced, "Room is clean, room is clean."  I didn't realize how bad it was until our toddles clarified this for me.  Gram's gotta get better at cleaning the house evidently.
  • Otty asked his Momma last night, "What the heck mom?"  I"m sure he's heard this from someone, but it's pretty cute coming from a toddler.
  • Otto and Hux were taking a bath at Gram's the other night and Ot told me he "pooped." Fortunately he didn't.  Later in the playroom I asked him if he tooted in the tub.  He replied, "no, puffed like the train."

We also have a new situation since baby brother and Momma have been home.   When I visit then get ready to leave Otty's house, he runs to get his coat and shoes.  When Momma tells him he's staying home he starts crying.  Of course then Gram scoops him up and brings him home.   He's definitely figured out the system (thanks to Gram's reinforcement) and I have not figured out how to rectify this without Otty tears.  When I tell him it's time to bring him home he tells me, "not yet."  So now bribery has been installed with a promise Mommy will watch a video with him when he gets home.  In truth I know someday he is going to be too busy to come to Gram's so for now I happily take my Otty home with me to play.
