Fun Times

Gram and Otto have been spending time up at the cabin this month.  We play in the sand, play in the water, and eat snacks…fun times. Ot really enjoys his time here and immediately goes to the big storage bin to empty out all the sand toys and sand chairs so we can start playing.  I look back at last years summer photos and can't believe how big Otto has gotten. It all goes so fast.  I'm just glad I'm along for the ride!

Otto is growing up.  He is definitely all toddler now.  He wants to do things on his own;  like walking the dogs, getting up on the furniture himself and riding the lawn mower like Grandpa.

As a matter of fact, the John Deere riding lawnmower has become a bit of an obsession with Otty.  As soon as he goes in the garage he instantly starts making the mower sound and saying, "up, up, up" to get on the mower.  If Grandpa goes outside without him there are tears.  The routine when Grandpa is home now is that they go around the block two times on the mower and then they are done.  Of course, being a toddler, Ot's not too keen on the "done" part, but we are working on it:)

Lily allows Otto to walk her,  but she does tend to quiver a bit since the leash snaps back at her once in a while when Otto lets go.  She also gets in big trouble from Otto if she doesn't stay on the road.  He doesn't want to be walking her down the hills in peoples yards evidently, and he let's her know.  You can tell by his walk that he feels quite confident.

Otto is also learning to run.  It is pretty funny to watch.  He squeals and giggles when you chase him.  Our stairway and island at home happen to be the perfect racetrack to practice his indoor running.
